The bookmaker Betfair has introduced this month, the Starting Price Bet (SP) and the response from customers was extremely positive after a test phase during a race at Southwell afternoon that has made a profit of 102% bookmaker.
In the first race for which it was made available this type of bet the percentage of profit was an exceptional 95.7% with bets SP Betfair far more popular than other 10 bookmakers, even after the application of a 5% commission. Four of the seven races have had a return of just under 100% in wagers.
A bet 10 pounds on the seven winners with the traditional bet SP would give a gain of 471.20 pounds, but with the new SP and bet with a commission applied the maximum bettors would have a gain of 596.22 pounds: a difference of 125.02 pounds! The last winner of the race, Dado Mush, was quoted 28 / 1, but 40.18 with the new system Betfair.
The spokesman for Betfair, Tony Calvin said: “We are happy of the results of this new product and the enthusiastic reactions of our customers. The worst percentage recorded was 102% and better than the 95.7% is therefore clear the advantage of bet with the new system Betfair SP.
“They are the transparency of our product and earnings for our customers to realize particularly proud and go to promote bet Betfair SP even more widely. We will provide our customers all the information at their profits.”
